INFORMATION
Lanfine
Estate is an important private country estate in Ayrshire. It extends to
approximately 922 acres of pastures and woodlands and is centered around
Lanfine House, an imposing mansion house, which dates from around 1770 and
is set in mature policies.

SITUATION
Lanfine is
situated in an attractive wooded setting 7 miles (11 km) east of
Kilmarnock and south of the villages of Newmilns and Darvel, alongside the
River Irvine. The estate is convenient to both Prestwick Airport - 14
miles (22 km) and Glasgow - 24 miles (38 km).

HOLIDAYS
IN LANFINE
We offer
the possibility of self-catering accommodation in a 120 m² apartment
contained within Lanfine House. It comprises of a living room, 4 bedrooms,
bathroom, shower room, kitchen and store. Heating is provided by white
meter storage heaters. The sitting room has an open fireplace to provide
additional heating and a romantic atmosphere if needed.
We charge £500.00
per week during the season between 4th April and 18th October. Any used
electricity is charged in addition. Linen and basic kitchen and tableware
is provided. Please bring your own towels.

The park
landscape around Lanfine House offers opportunities for walking, jogging,
cycling, horse riding and many other outdoor activities.
ACTIVITIES
DURING YOUR VISIT
Ayrshire itself is renowned for
its variety of sporting and leisure opportunities.
It is famous world wide for golf, with championship courses at
Royal Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry, all of which have hosted the Open
Championship. There is
sailing in the Firth of Clyde with yachting marinas at Troon and further
up the coast at Largs and Inverkip. There
are good opportunities for field sports including pheasant shooting and
salmon fishing. Several
well-known driven grouse moors are situated just south of Lanfine.
The racecourse at Ayr, which has both National Hunt and flat
racing, hosts the Scottish Grand National. Many other tourist attractions
and major Scottish Cities in the Central Belt are within easy reach for
day trips. |

|
Ayrshire
is without a doubt the birthplace and true home of Open Golf - the very
first British Open was held at Prestwick in 1860, and the golfing history
of the area dates back to the sixteenth century.
The
Open Championship courses at Royal Troon and Turnberry are our flagships,
of course, but whether a golfer's preference is for true Scottish Links or
parkland courses, there are some of the best municipal and privately run
courses within a club swing of almost anywhere in the county.

Springwater
Fisheries, Dalrymple Fly

Sea Fishing, Girvan
Girvan
offers a wide variety of locations to fish, from shallow reefs to deep
wrecks. Depending on the time of year, different species of fish are
available: Conger, Ling, Pollack, Saith, Cod and Tope, and other species
during the summer months.
Tackle
can be hired and bait can be supplied. Terminal tackle is carried on
board. Clubs and individuals are welcome.

completely new off-road experience. The 4-wheel motor cycles are easy and
safe to ride, even for a complete novice. We have a purpose built course on Lanfine Estate. Full tuition

The
centre caters for all ages and abilities, ranging from 15 minute walks for
toddlers to lessons for advanced riders. Facilities include a floodlit all
